Baghdad Operations Command began, on Monday morning, implementing a security operation for regional search and inspection and armed reconnaissance within the vicinity of the capital, Baghdad. A statement by the Baghdad Operations Command stated: 'With the aim of enhancing security and stability, drying up the sources of terrorism, and pursuing outlaws, units of the Baghdad Operations Command, through the formations of the Infantry Divisions (sixth and seventeenth) and the units attached to them, with the support of agencies and intelligence services, began implementing security operations for search and regional inspection and armed reconnaissance in the areas (Al-Mahmoudiyah and the surrounding villages and districts, Basateen Al-Khazna, Mashrou' Al-Yabis, Albu Shuwail, the outer ring of Al-Taji prison) in the north and south of the capital, Baghdad.
