Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi outlined the key discussions and decisions made by the Cabinet.
The Cabinet expressed commendation for HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's participation in the GCC Consultative Summit, which took place on Tuesday in Jeddah, KSA. The summit brought together leaders and heads of delegations from the GCC countries to engage in discussions centered on regional and international developments.
Furthermore, the Cabinet praised the outcomes of the talks between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmed Al Sharaa during his visit to Doha. These discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations and addressing critical regional and international issues. The Cabinet emphasized that these talks have significantly contributed to strengthening ties between Qatar and Syria.
Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed the Shura Council's approval of a draft law amending provisions of Law No. 4 of 2008 related to real estate leases. The draft, prepared by the Ministry of Municipality, aims to combat illegal subdivisions in real estate units, mitigate the negative impacts of unregistered lease contracts, reduce fees for registering these contracts, and expedite the settlement of rental disputes.
The Cabinet also approved a draft law exempting spare parts for civil aircraft used within airport premises from customs duties. This initiative, prepared by the Ministry of Finance in coordination with the General Authority of Customs, aligns with international and regional obligations and supports the civil aviation sector by streamlining customs procedures.
Moreover, the Cabinet gave the green light to a draft cooperation program between Qatar's Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Morocco for 2026-2027. It also approved a draft master agreement between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation Council, as well as a draft Memorandum of Understanding on judicial assistance for victims of human trafficking between the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking and the Qatar Lawyers Association.
The meeting concluded with the Cabinet reviewing two annual reports on the results of the work of the Standing Population Committee and deciding on the appropriate actions to be taken based on these reports.
