Doha: The Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) has signed a significant funding agreement with the Qatar Cancer Society (QCS). Under this new agreement, DAAM will provide financial support to QCS’s Cancer Patients Treatment Fund, as well as funding for awareness and prevention campaigns and programs.

According to Qatar News Agency, this agreement underscores the influential role played by DAAM and the companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange in supporting social and charitable initiatives, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030. The funding aims to boost QCS’s capacity to assist cancer patients in need, covering essential costs such as medical examinations, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and specialized surgeries.

Furthermore, the initiative will empower the Society to implement media campaigns, workshops, and community initiatives that promote the importance of early detection and encourage healthy lifestyles. This partnership is a continuation of ongoing efforts between DAAM and QCS, with DAAM having previously supported the World Colorectal Cancer Conference in 2013 and cancer patient treatment initiatives in 2020, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to health-focused programs that enhance community quality of life.

On this occasion, HE Chairman of Qatar Cancer Society Dr. Khalid bin Jabor Al-Thani expressed gratitude for DAAM’s support, highlighting the longstanding strategic relationship that has significantly sustained QCS’s treatment and awareness programs. Dr. Khalid emphasized that the funding exemplifies collaboration between national institutions and supports QCS’s vision of a cancer-aware community and improved quality of life for patients.

The agreement also aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 goals in human development and public health. Dr. Khalid called on all national entities, both public and private, to support impactful and sustainable health programs, stressing that the fight against cancer is a community responsibility requiring collective efforts.

Since its inception in 2010, DAAM has laid the groundwork for numerous vital projects and initiatives in social, sport, and cultural fields. The contributions from companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange are viewed as essential partners in achieving sustainable community development.
