Doha: Al Shamal maintained their winning streak with a 2-1 win over Al Sailiya in their Week 3 match of the 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Al Bayt Stadium on Friday.

According to Qatar News Agency, this was Al Shamal’s third successive win, taking their tally of points to 9, while Al Sailiya, suffering a third loss, are yet to open their account.

Al Shamal opened the scoring through Alex Collado in the 26th minute, who shot in a Mohamed Naceur Manai diagonal cross. Al Sailiya equalized in the 38th minute with Diogo Fonseca Amaro scoring off a header from a corner kick taken by Mathias Antonsen Normann.

Al Shamal regained the lead early in the second half, in the 54th minute, as Baghdad Bounedjah flicked in a Mohamed Omar pass with the ball going in past the bottom of the right post.

Al Sailiya came close to equalizing again in the 76th minute, but Youssef Snana kicked the ball just wide to the right while trying to beat a lone Al Shamal goalkeeper, Babacar Seck. Four minutes earlier, Seck had cut off a strong kick from Snana.

Al Shamal’s Abdessamed Bounacer was shown the red card in the 90+10′ minute after a VAR review.
