The dollar fell to its lowest levels in more than two months against the Japanese yen on Wednesday, with the decline in yen selling in financial carry transactions ahead of the Japan Central Bank's meeting next week. The dollar index, which measures the performance of the US currency against six major currencies, fell 0.34 percent to 104.12 points. The dollar recorded its lowest level since May 6th against the yen, after falling 1.56 percent to 153.16 yen. The euro rose 0.08 percent against the US currency to $1,086, while the British pound rose 0.19 percent to $1,293. The Australian dollar fell by about 0.5 percent to 0.6599 US dollars, approaching the lowest level recorded in early June, while the Canadian dollar fell 0.12 percent to 1.38 against the US dollar.
