New delhi: An earthquake measuring magnitude 4.5 on the Richter scale struck on Thursday in the northern Indian state of Haryana.
According to Qatar News Agency, the National Center for Seismology in India reported that the tremor occurred 7 kilometers from the Jhajjar district in the state, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Residents of the Indian capital, New Delhi, and some surrounding areas felt the earthquake. The statement highlighted that there have been no reports of human or material damage as a result of the tremor.
The Indian subcontinent has experienced some significant earthquakes in recent decades, raising concerns and awareness about seismic activities in the region.
