MENA Alliance of Business Schools for Sustainability Launched in Doha

The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Alliance of Business Schools for Sustainability was launched in Doha on Wednesday on the margins of 6th International Conference on Entrepreneurship for Sustainability and Impact (ESI) under the theme: Tackling Grand Challenges for a Sustainable Future'.

The alliance has been initiated by the College of Business and Economics at QU and aims to reinforce cooperation and partnership in research among MENA experts, scientists, researchers, and decision makers in the field of climate change, environment, and sustainability practices in business community. The alliance is actively participating in numerous MENA universities alongside QU.

Dean of the College of Business and Economics at QU Professor Rana Sobh said the alliance intends to encourage regional cooperation among universities academically accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in combating climate change, noting that the alliance will largely focus on strengthening sustainability in developing study curricula, as well as reinforcing research cooperation in issues of environment and climate change.

The alliance will bring together researchers, experts, and decision makers from MENA to further forge a robust research alliance for the promotion of sustainability, she said, adding that the global economic is facing overwhelming challenges that necessitate immediate attention, such as climate change and pollution, urging the business community to take further steps to solve these problems.
