Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Holds Crucial Talks with Slovenian, Portuguese, and Uruguayan Counterparts

Doha: HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi engaged in significant discussions with HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Tanja Fajon, HE Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic Paulo Rangel, and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay Mario Lubetkin. The conversations centered around the recent military escalation in the region and its potential impact on international security and stability.

According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions also addressed the Iranian attack on Qatari territory, which HE Minister Al Muraikhi described as a blatant violation of national sovereignty and inconsistent with the principles of good neighborliness. He highlighted Qatar's efforts to remain neutral in regional conflicts and to facilitate dialogue between Iran and the international community. However, he noted that the renewed aggression undermines the foundation of bilateral relations between Qatar and Iran.

HE Minister Al Muraikhi emphasized the importance of halting any further escalatory measures and called for a return to negotiations to maintain regional security. He urged all parties involved to prioritize reason and wisdom in order to contain the crisis.

The foreign ministers of Slovenia, Portugal, and Uruguay supported Qatar's stance, condemning the Iranian attack as a violation of Qatar's sovereignty and international law. They echoed the call for adherence to the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations.
