The State of Qatar took part in a meeting between the North Atlantic Council (NAC) and the countries of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI). Jordan, Iraq and Kuwait also participated in the meeting. HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the European Union and NATO, Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Malki presided over the State of Qatar's delegation to the meeting. Delivering Qatar's statement before the meeting, His Excellency said that the situation in the Middle East, especially in Gaza and the Red Sea, requires collective efforts to maintain peace and security, especially at this critical time. His Excellency pointed to the State of Qatar's unwavering efforts to bring the war on the Gaza Strip to an end since this war erupted, highlighting Doha's commitment to supporting all regional and international efforts to achieve regional and international security and stability. His Excellency added that there is no possibility for lasting peace in the region without a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that includes ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state, in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. His Excellency said that collective and unified efforts to maintain global peace and security are desperately needed, especially amid worsening threats and challenges across various parts of the world.
