Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index declined by 66.37 points, or 0.65%, to 10,093 points at the start of trading on Sunday, compared to the previous session's close, under pressure from four sectors.
According to Qatar News Agency, the market was weighed down largely by the Banks and Financial Services sector, which fell 0.51%. Following closely were the Industrials sector with a decline of 0.54%, Transportation with a decrease of 0.80%, and Telecoms dropping by 1.43%. Despite these downturns, some sectors showed positive performances, with Insurance rising by 0.13%, Consumer Goods and Services increasing by 0.12%, and Real Estate ticking up by 0.03%.
By 10:00 am, QSE recorded a total turnover of QR 61.052 million, with 29.068 million shares traded across 4,514 transactions. The figures highlight the mixed performance of various sectors and the fluctuating dynamics of the stock market.
