Doha: Somali Minister of Defense Ahmed Moallim Fiqi met Tuesday with the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission and Head of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) Ibrahima Diene, to discuss ways to strengthen strategic cooperation and coordination between Somalia and the African Union Mission, as well as mechanisms for implementing the national security transition plan.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting also addressed accelerating joint military operations against armed groups threatening Somalia’s security and stability.
