The head of the Border Crossings Authority, Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, today, Wednesday, made a field visit to the Directorate of Al-Najaf International Airport to see the readiness of the Directorate and its plan for the Arbaeen visit of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

A statement by the authority stated, “Al-Waeli held a meeting with the directorate’s staff, stressing the need to intensify the oversight and audit work on all measures taken by the operating departments to ensure that any materials that violate or are prohibited by law are prevented from passing through.”

Al-Waeli directed, according to the statement, to “follow up the important files, including (the fees achieved and control the entry and exit of money according to the controls and procedures for the supply of medicines and gold).”

Al-Waeli stressed, “the necessity of working in a team spirit with all departments operating at the airport, exchanging information, integration, cooperation and coordination in a way that ensures smooth and professional work and adherence to the procedures, laws and instructions for each department.”
