The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement, “During the meeting, they discussed the most important outcomes of the visit that the Undersecretary made to the holy governorate of Karbala last March and his meeting with, the legal guardian of the Husseinian shrine, Sheikh Abd al-Mahdi al-Karbalai, which included coordination to nominate some diplomatic figures to participate in the conferences held by the shrine, and cooperation to establish a forum on religious and cultural diplomacy and increased cooperation with our missions abroad to coordinate the external activities of the holy shrine. “.

The Undersecretary affirmed, “Cooperation between the Imam Hussein Shrine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs exists, and there is a need to continue and strengthen this cooperation, since the shrine provides great services to citizens through its projects that contribute to achieving the goals of sustainable development in the educational, health, service, and agricultural fields through building schools, universities, hospitals, and medical centers, and implementing projects by using the latest agricultural technologies.
