Turkish Intelligence Announces The Killing Of A Prominent Leader Of The PKK In Northern Iraq

Turkish intelligence announced the killing of a prominent leader of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in a security operation it carried out in Sinjar region in northern Iraq.

Turkish intelligence stated in a media report today, Friday, that the so-called Khaled Rasho Qasim, the so-called Sinjar security official in the PKK organization in northern Iraq, nicknamed Dindar Avista, was being followed by Turkish intelligence, where he was spotted in the Sinjar region, accompanied by a number of his companions. A Turkish intelligence force was able to kill him and his companions there.

Khaled Rasho Qasim had joined the PKK in 2014, participated in training terrorists, and was an official among the cadres responsible for recruiting members for the organization. Then he became the so-called “Public Security Officer in Sinjar” in the ranks of the “Sinjar Resistance Units” and gave instructions to kill many civilians in the mentioned region / according to the media report /.

On the other hand, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the killing of 12 PKK militants in northern Syria.

The Turkish Defense Ministry stated in a statement today, Friday, that a number of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants were preparing to carry out attacks targeting the areas of the “Euphrates Shield” and “Olive Branch” operations in northern Syria, which necessitated an air strike on their whereabouts, resulting in the Killing of 12 of them./End
