Doha: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed bilateral relations and the ongoing war between Moscow and Kyiv in a phone call Tuesday with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the call, Erdogan affirmed his country’s readiness to host a leaders’ summit between Russia and Ukraine, noting that the formation of working groups in the military, humanitarian, and political fields will pave the way for the summit. He also stressed Turkiye’s continued support for Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
On July 23, Turkiye hosted the third round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. Previously, it hosted two other rounds in May and June, which resulted in agreements to release thousands of prisoners from both sides.
