The World Health Organization warned of a humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.
The official News Agency quoted a statement by the organization as saying, “The health system in Gaza is on the verge of collapse and time is running out to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe unless fuel and life-saving health and humanitarian supplies are delivered urgently.”
It explained, "Electricity is only available in hospitals in the Gaza Strip for a few hours each day, as they are forced to ration their diminishing stock of fuel and rely on generators to continue their necessary tasks."
It indicated, according to the statement, "Even these missions will stop within a few days as the fuel stock runs out, and that the resulting effects will be devastating for the most vulnerable patients, including the wounded in need of life-saving surgeries, patients in intensive care units, and newborns in incubators."
