Diyala Elections Commission Achieves Advanced Achievement Rates In Distributing Voter Cards And Biometric Updating

Diyala Elections Commission revealed the statistics of distributing electronic voter cards and biometric updating in preparation for the upcoming local elections.

The director of the Diyala Commission office, Ali Karim, told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that “Diyala governorate achieved more than 85% of the biometric update, while the percentage of distributing the electronic voter card reached more than 90% after adopting a new mechanism and plans through registration centers and mobile teams that ran in remote areas far from the center of the province.”

He added that “the biometric update included addressing social variables and transfers between administrative units, in addition to including newborns included in the ballot. Indicating that governmental and societal cooperation is one of the main factors in achieving advanced achievement rates in voter card distribution and biometric updating.
