Doha: Qatari newspapers have focused on the recent issuance by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani of Amiri Decision No. 27 of 2025, which establishes the Qatar Award for Localization in the Private Sector. This initiative is designed to encourage private sector institutions to contribute to national development by utilizing local talent across various specialties, marking a new phase of competition in serving the nation.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Sharq newspaper emphasized the significance of the decision, noting that the private sector is a crucial partner in development and a contributor to the nation’s gross domestic product. The involvement of national cadres, who have been extensively trained and qualified, is essential to understanding and meeting national needs. Al-Sharq concluded that integrating national talent into the private sector would ensure the sustainability and continuity of human resources needed to lead projects and achieve development goals, addressing issues of job localization and enhancing societal capabilities in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Al-Raya newspaper echoed these sentiments, highlighting the state leadership’s belief in the vital role of Qatari youth in achieving sustainable development. The Qatar Award for Localization is seen as a strategic goal offering numerous benefits, including quality investments and employment opportunities, while increasing national workforce participation in private sector institutions. Al-Raya noted that the award would foster healthy competition among private entities, recognizing those meeting nationalization targets and honoring distinguished citizens and leaders in the private sector.
The state has also initiated various incentives to encourage Qataris to enter the private sector, offering privileges that make these jobs attractive, and emphasizing the potential for growth and opportunity outside of government roles. Al-Raya concluded that the Qatar Award for Localization is intended to balance the private sector labor market, ensuring sustainable income and enabling Qatari talent to contribute to national progress, in line with their qualifications and capabilities, for the nation’s sustainable development.
