The Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Iraq in Jakarta, Ammar Hamid Al-Khalidi, met with the Indonesian President's Envoy for Middle East Affairs and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries, Alawi Shihab. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement: "The two sides discussed strengthening and developing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, in a way that serves common interests, in addition to working to complete the conclusion of a number of draft agreements and memoranda of understanding during the next stage.
